PAUSE, 2020
Archival inkjet prints, high resolution digital scans of 35mm negatives
Shot during the “New York State on PAUSE” shutdown, these photographs were taken at the height of the lockdown when traveling from Brooklyn to Manhattan was no longer routine, but a planned journey. Coincidentally happening when I was moving away from digital photography and rediscovering film, the deserted streets of Manhattan lent themselves to the tonal quality of light and shadow captured on low-speed film. A big thank you to the Bushwick Community Darkroom that maintained operations throughout the shutdown with a drop off box at the front door.
